Software Updates: Keeping Design Atlas Current

The Design Atlas 2026 includes an integrated update module to ensure your calculation kernels, material databases, and norm collections (AD 2000, EN, ASME) are always up to date.

1. Running the Update Module

The software features a streamlined update process that does not require a full re-installation for minor patches or database updates.

How to Start the Update:

  1. Open the Design Atlas main interface.
  2. Navigate to the File menu in the top menu bar.
  3. Click on Update Modules.
  4. The update process will launch immediately.

2. The Update Process

Once triggered, the Update Module automatically performs the following steps:

  • Version Check: Compares your local installation with the latest version available on our servers.
  • Component Selection: Identifies and lists all necessary updates for your licensed modules and databases.
  • Download & Patch: Downloads the components and applies the patches to your system.
  • Restart: In most cases, a restart of the software is required after the update is completed to initialize the new components.

3. Important Considerations

  • Internet Connection: An active internet connection is mandatory to reach the update server.
  • Save Your Work: Always close active calculations and save your progress before starting the update, as the program may need to restart.

4. Manual / Offline Updates

For environments without direct internet access (e.g., highly secured industrial networks), we provide Offline Update Packages via our customer portal. These can be installed manually by an administrator.

⚠️ Why Updates Matter

Engineering standards (like AD 2000 or EN 13445) are subject to change. Regular updates ensure your designs and material values comply with the latest revisions of international safety regulations.
